The Queensland-based teenager had a busy day at the rain-hit tournament in Seoul, first of all earning a terrific 6-0 6-3 win over world No.12, Denmark's Clara Tauson, in their held-over quarter-final.
But when forced to double up later on Saturday against world No.2 and top seed Swiatek, the 19-year-old found her first ever match against the six-time grand slam champion to be a somewhat chastening affair as she succumbed 6-0 6-2.
Swiatek, who herself had a quick turnaround after earlier having beaten former Wimbledon champ Barbora Krejcikova 6-0 6-3 in the quarters, needed only an hour and seven minutes to end Joint's latest adventure, after 'bagelling' her in just 25 minutes in the opening stanza.
But after featuring in her fourth semi of the year, Joint, who's already won two tournaments in her breakthrough 2025 campaign, could at least savour the fact that she'll move up 10 places to a career-high No.36 in the world rankings on Monday.
That's an 80-place improvement over a year in which she became Morocco Open champion on clay and Eastbourne International winner on grass.
The teenager battled valiantly in the second set against Swiatek, even eking out a break of serve before she finally succumbed to the inevitable.
To complete her busy day on the hard courts at Seoul's Olympic tennis centre, Joint also teamed up with American Caty McNally to reach the doubles final with a 6-2 6-1 semi-final win over the luckless Tauson and Taiwan's Chan Hao-ching.
In the final, they'll play Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova, the former seven-time grand slam champions and Olympic gold medallists who have teamed up again in Seoul just as if they'd never been away. The Czech pair beat Chinese duo Xu Yifan and Yang Zhaoxuan 6-2 7-5.
In the singles final, Swiatek will be looking for her third title of the year against Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, who beat Siniakova 6-4 6-2.
Meanwhile, in China's Hangzhou Open, Australian hopes of having two men in the quarter-finals never materialised.
Rinky Hijikata, who had battled through qualifying, found Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry too strong in their last-16 clash, going down 6-1 6-4 in just under an hour and a half.
Aleksandar Vukic then looked as if he might be on course for an upset against the soaring Alexander Bublik as he took the first set in his clash with the No.3 seed, but the flamboyant Kazakh, in the form of his life, hit back to prevail 6-7 (6-8) 6-4 6-4.
In Sunday's Chengdu Open, another ATP tournament in China, Chris O'Connell will face Chilean qualifier Alejandro Tabilo in the quarter-finals.
