Adding to the celebrations, students took part in a special Book Fair, where each child selected five free books to take home and keep.
Thanks to the generosity of 123Read2Me, the school hall was filled with hundreds of titles for students to explore.
Gowrie St Primary is one of several schools across the region to benefit from the organisation’s support.
Based in Seaford, 123Read2Me is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing free, good-quality second-hand books to children, regardless of their circumstances.
The organisation has made a significant impact in Greater Shepparton, delivering thousands of books to local schools and helping foster a lifelong love of reading.
The Gowrie St Primary event and book delivery were co-ordinated by the Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project and the Shepparton Central Rotary Club, which has a long-standing relationship with the school.
Rotarians generously volunteered on the day, assisting with set-up and helping students and staff with their book selections.
