Rochester was a flurry of literary activity for Book Week, which ran from August 16 to 23.
Characters swapped Neverland and the DC and Marvel universes for Rochester.

Up first on Thursday, August 21, Rochester Primary School and Shine Bright Kindergarten Rochester students strutted their stuff.
There were a few opportunities for a real-life Where’s Wally game, while popular Roald Dahl and Dr Seuss characters also called in.

Down the road on Friday, August 22, it was St Joseph’s Primary School, Rochester students’ turn.

Inflatable costumes were popular among staff and students, with a shark, an alien, a monkey and a few dinosaurs waddling their way around the Delany Pavilion.
The Wizard of Oz, Donkey Kong, Disney princesses and Pixar films served as outfit inspiration for some attendees.

On the whole, Rochester’s Book Week events took participants and attendees out of the playground and into the pages, fitting the 2025 theme, ‘Book an Adventure’.
