Hosting the Eagles in the last home and away game for the season at Merrigum Recreation Reserve, it took the Bulldogs three quarters to hit the scoreboard.
Meanwhile, Shepparton East bombarded inside 50 despite not being entirely accurate, notching 5.9 in the first quarter.
It was a similar, albeit more accurate second period, the Eagles extended their lead to 72 with a 5.3 effort before half-time.
The Bulldogs made their first and only scoring shot of the match count, with Kellan Robinson sending it through the middle for maximum return.
Shepparton East dominated the second half, turning up the heat in the third and fourth quarters with 8.5 and 10.3 to cruise to a 28.20 (188) to 1.0 (6) victory.
Tom Cooper was named best-on-ground for the Bulldogs with Shelby Ludlow-Lambrick, Zak Parkinson, Luke Last, Kellan Robinson and Darcy Collins rounding out the list.
While Merrigum’s season is now over, Shepparton East will gear up for an elimination final against Rushworth on Saturday, August 23 at 2.30pm at Ironbark Stadium.
