SEN Goulburn Valley 1260am is set to replace SEN Shepparton on September 1 and broadcast to areas including Shepparton, Benalla, Seymour, Kyabram, Cobram and Mansfield, with programming including several of its flagship shows and “local sport and racing coverage”.
That will include Breakfast with Garry and Tim, which Lyon has co-hosted with Tim Watson since 2004.
“It’s pretty special to know that our show will now be heard in Kyabram – my home town,” Lyon said.
“I’ve got a lot of fond memories from the region — they are absolutely passionate about their sport and I’m looking forward to connecting with listeners across the magnificent Goulburn Valley.”
Broadcast and shows will be available on air and SEN’s app and website and will also be buoyed by further country influence in the form of its newly-appointed Regional Victoria commercial director Andy Mathers, who grew up in the Cobram-Barooga area.
“I grew up listening to 1260am — that’s where my love of radio and media started,” Mathers said.
