The summit, delivered by the Victorian Tourism Industry Council, will see expert-led workshops focusing on best practices, new industry strategies and the latest innovations in the tourism sector.
In a first, the event will also bring together the Visitor Services Summit and the Top Tourism Town Awards ceremony.
The summit is expected to attract hundreds of attendees with activities at various locations in Shepparton, including the Shepparton Art Museum, the Museum of Vehicle Evolution and Riverlinks Eastbank.
With many delegates staying in the city for multiple nights, the summit also aims to boost the local visitor economy, supporting accommodation providers, restaurants and local businesses.
“We’re proud to support this event in Shepparton which provides a valuable opportunity for tourism professionals while boosting local jobs and businesses,” Tourism, Sport and Major Events Acting Minister Gayle Tierney said.
The summit builds on new projects completed in and around Shepparton in 2024 that are contributing to Victoria’s $40 billion visitor economy.
These include the giant Murray cod stature at the Arcadia Native Fish Hatchery, the upgraded facilities at the Shepparton BMX and Cycling Precinct, and the Tatura Park western oval lighting upgrades.
The summit is funded through the Regional Tourism Industry Development Program.
