The charity recently announced a new partnership with local cleaning supplies business Everyday Supplies, which will provide in-kind support, donating necessary cleaning products, bathroom and tea room supplies, small cleaning equipment and stationery.
“Jac, Brad and the team at Everyday Supplies are well known in our community,” Dee Healey said.
“They are no strangers to supporting a cause that they believe benefits the community in which they operate their business.
“We are so grateful for this valuable support.”
For the past three years, Everyday Supplies has been a Shepparton Foodshare ‘monthly partner’; an initiative that sees a person or business commit to providing a set tax-deductible financial contribution to support operating costs during one month of the year.
Everyday Supplies predicts its new partnership will provide a greater impact than its former monthly arrangement, estimating Shepparton Foodshare’s annual operational costs will be reduced by around $8000 to $10,000.
“We know many people are willing to be a monthly partner, so we thought it best to open up our spot to someone else while still contributing to the operational costs,” Everyday Supplies owner Jac McCarty said.
For the most recent financial year, Shepparton Foodshare distributed a record 490,000kg of food, a 30 per cent increase on the previous year, and the largest annual distribution since inception.
Food is distributed for free to registered emergency relief agencies, schools, community meals programs, faith organisations and neighbourhood houses.
