There’s no iridescent bat symbol beaming across the night sky, no transformative phone booths on the street corner and no Amazonian steel shields being wielded about.
So the Goulburn Valley community is being called on to help unmask its hidden heroes.
Shepparton’s Kaitlyn and Michael Kelly set out on a quest to find one who they believe deserves a few heroic gestures of their own.
“We’re trying to attract someone in the community who is selfless; someone who always puts others first; that quiet hero who gives their time, spreads kindness and never asks for anything in return,” Kaitlyn said.
“Someone hard-working who is doing things unnoticed, not because they have to, but just because they can.”
When their search delivers the chosen one, or ones, the reward will consist of multiple vouchers from local businesses.
The carefully curated prize packages will not only allow them to put their feet up and catch their breath for a minute while someone else looks after them in a turning of tables, by cleaning their home, mowing their lawns and cooking them a meal, they’ll also get some pampering with massage, hair and beauty services in the mix.
The Kellys, who started Kellys Carpet Window Cleaning 18 years ago, have regularly run competitions on their Facebook page since COVID times as part of their own community service.
But this ‘winter wellness giveaway’ is a prize pool of more than $1000 of services contributed by multiple local businesses, and the first of its size they’ve offered.
“We’ve wanted to give back to the community as much as we can,” Kaitlyn said.
“This hero you nominate could even be someone at your local drive-through that just makes you smile when you get your daily coffee.”

“A massive thank you to the generous local businesses who have jumped in to make this giveaway possible,” Kaitlyn said.
