Sharks lose hamstrung half Trindall for Titans clash

The injury leaves Cronulla without both of their first-choice halves, given Nicho Hynes is also sidelined until the eve of the finals after his serious ankle injury.

Hooker Blayke Brailey will come into the halves to replace Trindall, partnering Daniel Atkinson.

But the Sharks are hopeful Trindall's injury is not serious, and that he could potentially return against Newcastle in round 24.

Cronulla have also put Braden Hamlin-Uele on ice for Friday's match due to knee soreness.

The win over Souths was the Sharks' third in nine matches, as they fight to turn around their mid-season slump and stay in the top four.

Elsewhere, Wests Tigers will be without centre Justin Olam for the rest of the season due to knee surgery.

Olam was due to try and downgrade a four-game high-tackle charge at the NRL judiciary on Tuesday night, but that contest has now been withdrawn.
