Some of the students were inspired to create a fundraising event, raising money for Can Assist after having family members diagnosed with cancer.
Can Assist Deniliquin Branch ensures that all people in our community have equitable access to cancer treatment and care by providing financial assistance, practical support and raising awareness.
“It has been amazing seeing the kids working so well together whilst talking about their families experiences with cancer and being able to show support to one another.
The students have been eager to make a fun night for families by coming up with ideas to create an evening for everyone to enjoy.
There will be a sausage sizzle, lollies, ice-creams, drinks and glow items available to purchase on the night.
Families in the community have been amazing with their contributions by donating items for the night as well as local business’s donating raffle prizes including The Crossing Café, Plains Design, Zen Thyme Therapy, Cooinda Hair Studio, Total Bliss and Deniliquin Newsagency.
The movie night will be on Frida, November 10 with gates opening at 7pm and the movie will start at 7:45pm.
Entry will be a gold coin donation. Please bring your camping chairs, beanbags or picnic rugs.
