Continued upgrade works at a crucial intersection in Shepparton will force its closure for over a week next month.

Greater Shepparton City Council has advised of changing traffic conditions from Wednesday, August 2.

The works, which include upgrades to efficiency and safety, are ongoing.

The roundabout at the intersection of Andrew Fairley Ave, Lockwood Rd, Old Dookie Rd and the entrance to SPC will be closed to all traffic from August 2 until Friday, August 11.

The current roundabout is being upgraded to a fully signalised intersection that allows full truck turning movements in each direction and increases safety for all users, in particular regular pedestrian traffic.

As the works encroach on other areas of the intersection, traffic control will be utilised to maintain the flow of vehicles.

Access into the adjacent homes and businesses will be maintained for the duration of works; however, motorists are advised to expect delays, and detours will be in place.

Pedestrians are advised to avoid the area if possible.
