In the first of three rehearsed play readings planned for April, July and September, STAG presents the play The Vicar of Dibley Christmas, The Second Coming based on the hugely popular BBC TV comedy series starring Dawn French, on Sunday, April 18 at Casablanca Pizza and Pasta Restaurant, 125 High St, Shepparton.
A cast of nine STAG members: Fiona Wallace, Laura Varapodio, Kathy Daley, John Head, Troy McKindley, John Lewis, Wendy Platt, Sean O'Brien and Michael Molony will play much-loved characters including parish vicar Geraldine Granger, newly-married Alice Tinker, councillor David Horton and his dim-witted son Hugo, bumbling Jim Trott, boring Frank Pickle, earthy farmer Owen Newitt, and church organist and terrible cook Letitia Cropley.
Event producer Gemma Marchant said Sunday would be an evening of "cheeeesy comedy fun".
“Come and watch our rehearsed readings of some popular comedies and eat pizza, pasta and dessert. How deliciously entertaining does that sound?,” Ms Marchant said.
The rehearsed reading starts at 6 pm.
Entry is free for STAG members or $5 on the door for anyone who wants to watch.
