Irrigators have ordered 3681 Ml of water through Goulburn-Murray Water to kick off the new irrigation season.
The authority recorded 3681 Ml of orders up to August 12, coming from 84 customers.
The season gets under way on August 15.
The figure is higher than the same time last year when 275 Ml was booked.
In 2022 the figure was 1164 Ml.
Little rain has been recorded in Shepparton for August, and only 27mm for July, 27mm for June and 75mm for May.
It was worse for Echuca, with no rain in August and 19mm for July.
It’s a different story at Yarrawonga, with 3mm in August and 30mm in July.
