The revised Public Health Order signed off by NSW health minister Brad Hazzard has caused further confusion for the border community.
While the border zone remains unchanged, a Border Region has been created.
This border region allows residents of certain Victorian and NSW postcodes, including Finley and Berrigan, who qualify as critical service workers to travel to work without needing to quarantine for 14 days.
Berrigan Shire Council took to Facebook to alleviate the confusion.
“The new Public Health Order released this morning by the NSW Government has created a new 'border region' separate from the 'border (blue) zone',” the post read.
“This 'border region' does include Berrigan and Finley however this mainly relates to the provision of critical services in these areas from Victoria.
“It does not change the limitations placed on residents from Finley and Berrigan crossing the border and returning.”
The new changes will take effect from 4pm on Monday, August 10.
The border region includes the following Victorian postcodes: 3490, 3494, 3496, 3498, 3500, 3501, 3502, 3505, 3549, 3562, 3564, 3566, 3565, 3567, 3568, 3579, 3580, 3581, 3583, 3584, 3585, 3586, 3588, 3589, 3590, 3591, 3594, 3595, 3596, 3597, 3599, 3621, 3622, 3637, 3638, 3639, 3640, 3641, 3644, 3649, 3682, 3683, 3685, 3687, 3688, 3690, 3691, 3700, 3701, 3704, 3705, 3707, 3708, 3709, 3728, 3730, 3885, 3888, 3889, 3890, 3891, 3892, 3900.
