Feel the Magic

Every year, 1 in 20 Australian children experience the loss of a parent, guardian, or sibling before 18. At Feel the Magic, our mission is to help these children and their families heal through grief‑education programs that build hope and connection. Founded in 2013, Feel the Magic has grown into a national community supporting thousands of children aged 7–17. Our free, evidence‑based programs include Camp Magic, Family Day Camp, and the Healthy Grieving Program, a digital resource that equips families with practical tools and language to navigate grief at home. Each program is led by trained facilitators and designed with psychologists, educators, and wellbeing experts. The result is a compassionate space where children learn that while loss changes life, it doesn’t define it. Through community, connection, and care, Feel the Magic empowers grieving families to transform heartbreak into healing, ensuring no child walks with their grief alone.

Fighting for a future free from brain cancer

The Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF) was founded in 2014 by Mark and Kirralee Hughes after Mark’s brain cancer diagnosis. Motivated by the lack of funding and little progress in survival rates, they set out to change the future for people affected by brain cancer. What began with a single beanie has grown into a powerful national movement. Through the support of the community and the iconic Beanie for Brain Cancer campaign, MHF has raised millions for vital research and patient support. This grassroots support has helped fund world-class initiatives, including the $25 million Mark Hughes Foundation Centre for Brain Cancer Research at the University of Newcastle. MHF also supports Brain Cancer Care Coordinators in regional areas and research fellowships—working to improve care today and find a cure for tomorrow.

Building a better world for and with children

Save the Children is dedicated to protecting the rights of every child - ensuring they grow up healthy, educated, and safe from harm. Through our life-saving health programs, we help children not only to survive but thrive beyond their fifth birthday and build bright futures. Our education work opens doors to quality learning in safe, nurturing environments for every child. We help shield children from abuse, neglect, and violence to keep them safe wherever they are. And when crises unfold, we’re there to respond with immediate care and support for children and their families when they need it most. By standing with us, you help make this life-changing work possible. One way to make this impact is by giving a gift in memory of a loved one. It’s a meaningful way to honour their life while helping save and transform children’s lives for generations to come.

The Courier-Mail Children's Fund

For more than a century, The Courier-Mail Children's Fund has stood as a beacon of compassion in Queensland. Born from the goodwill of Queensland Newspapers staff in the early 1900s with its beloved “Santa's Toy Sack” toy drive, the Fund has evolved into a powerful force for change, with the mission to help change the lives of QLD children in need. From helping fund mobility bikes to supporting prosthetic limbs, Braille resources, school supplies, postoperative care clothing, and home-building initiatives for at-risk youth, the Fund's impact is both wide-reaching and deeply personal. Dispersing $2.5M in the 11 years up to 2025, its approach ensures that registered charities receive not just funding, but also the spotlight to bring their stories to life.
