MARSLAND, Violeta Rubio (Violy)

Late of Cairns and formerly of the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. Passed away peacefully at the Cairns Base Hospital on Sunday the 16th November aged 88 years.

Returned to God’s loving care. Much loved wife of Rod, doting Mother and Mother in Law of Marivi and Fred, Maricel and Michael and RT and Lissa.

Devoted Tita to Chester, Corrine, Christella, James, Oliver, Martin, Thirdy and Antisha.

Loving Nene to Archie and Indie.

Formerly a medical practioner in Papua New Guinea from 1976 until 1999. Affectionately known to all then as Doctor Tan, Violy practised at Vanimo, Arawa, Rabaul and Kimbe. Her skills as a physician were legendary as was her gentle nature, her generosity and her wonderful smile.

She will be so sadly missed by us all, her family, but she will always remain in our hearts and in our thoughts forever.

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Violy’s funeral service to be held at the Catholic Mother of Good Counsel Church, North Cairns on Friday the 28th. November at 11:30 a.m.

The Family would like to thank the Staff of Cairns Base Hospital for their dedication, compassion, care and kindness shown to Violy and her family during this difficult time.
