FULLER, Janet Dorothea

Janet Dorothea Fuller (née Montgomery)—known lovingly as Jan—went home to be with her Lord and Saviour at the age of 80. Born in Ipswich, Jan lived a life marked by unwavering faith, gentle strength, and a heart that beat for others.
A devoted wife to Rob, cherished mother to Kim, Tami, and Mark, treasured mother-in-law to Edmund, Aiden, and Juliet, proud grandmother to Spencer and Olive, as well as a loving eldest sister of Cathy.
Philippians 2:3 reminds us, “In humility value others above yourselves…” — Jan lived these words not as scripture alone, but as the rhythm of her life. She served as a high school teacher, a Sunday School teacher, a faithful prayer warrior, and a humble pillar in her community, and was honoured as Volunteer of the Year for the Division of McPherson. Yet she carried every act of service with quiet grace, never seeking applause—only wanting others to feel seen, loved, and lifted.
Her faith was not quiet — it was active, vibrant, and contagious. That same faith fuelled her passion for Christian education and led her to be instrumental in the founding of Emmanuel College and King’s Christian College, where countless young lives have been shaped by her dedication and vision.
Jan’s legacy is a tapestry of gentle moments — a hand held, a prayer whispered, a smile offered, an embrace shared at just the right time. Her life was a sermon of compassion, a hymn of joy, a testament to the power of a heart surrendered to God.
We rise to call her blessed, and her passing leaves a sacred echo, inspiring us to serve boldly, love deeply, and walk humbly with God.
Her celebration of life will be held at 10:00am, Friday 21 November at Kings Church, Reedy Creek, followed by light refreshments.
