Loving husband of Coralie for 53 years, passed away peacefully on the evening of Tuesday, November 11th.
Eldest child of Keith and Irene (both dec.), older brother to Coral (dec.) and June, and brother-in-law to Barry (dec.), Sylvia and Jill. Much loved uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Overcoming polio in his childhood, he went on to play cricket and football at a high level. Wal had a long and successful career with the SEC, he was a prize winning big-game fisherman, a world traveller and life long supporter of the Melbourne Football Club.
Long-time member and servant of Glen Iris Cricket Club, Beaumaris Motor Yacht Squadron and Melbourne Cricket Club.
Boisterous and strong, fierce defender of family and beloved by all.
A life lived with flair, courage and determination -
deserving of a century.
A fine innings.
