“Gone to his God”
A life devoted to faith, family and service. Father Frank Lourigan (Franan) dedicated his life to guiding others with compassion, humility and wisdom. He served as Rector of Banyo Seminary and as Parish Priest of Grovely, Mitchelton and Samford, touching many lives through his pastoral care and quiet strength.
Beyond his priestly vocation, Frank was a gentle, kind and generous brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle and great-great uncle. His warmth and humour filled family gatherings, and his listening ear and thoughtful presence was a source of comfort to all who knew him.
Loving son of Imelda (dec) and Francis (dec). Frank was deeply loved by his sisters Mary (dec), Meg, Anne and Rita, brothers-in-law Louis (dec), Rob, Mervyn, and Tom, and his many nieces and nephews – uncle to 23, great-uncle to 54 and great-great uncle to 10 – each of whom cherished his guidance and love.
Frank also had a spirited side – a fanatical supporter of the Brisbane Broncos and the Queensland Maroons.
Though he is gone to God, the grace of his life remains – in every prayer he offered, every person he helped, and every heart he touched.
