It is with much sadness that Adelaide Juventus
Sports and Social Club [Adelaide City FC] farewell
club champions from different eras.
Vale Nillo Rusalen
The Adelaide Juventus Sports and Social Club
expresses its condolences to Nillo’s family and
friends for the passing of club Player Life
Member, Nillo Rusalen. Nillo was a spectacular
player for Juventus and the SA state team,
serving from 1958 to 1970, achieving
outstanding success as a fearless defender.
His presence at the club will be sadly missed.
Vale John "Dixie" Deans
An unrivalled competitor as a centre forward
coming from a distinguished career in
Scotland with Celtic FC. Dixie arrived for the
inaugural NSL season in 1977 scoring 16 goals
in that season. Dixie was a key figure in
Adelaide City’s early success in the National
Soccer league.
Few names resonate in Australian and South
Australian football like Nillo Rusalen and Dixie
Deans. Rest in Peace
