Versatile netball young gun Ava Richards has had a fantastic year winning multiple awards, playing in representative teams and winning a grand final all impressively as a bottom age player.
Ava plays in the Murray League for Deniliquin Rams under-15 netball team where she enjoys playing in defence either as GD or GK.
The young Rams team reached great heights this season taking out the Murray League under-15 premiership defeating Cobram 21-14.
Capping off a very successful year, Ava was named Murray League Under-15 Best and Fairest as well as best defensive team with Emma Parks.
Adding to her awards she was also named Deniliquin Rams Under-15 Best and Fairest.
Ava’s standout season has gained her selection in the Under-15 Murray League representative team for the Northeast Championships and she has been identified in the Northeast Under-17 Talent Identification Program.
Speaking about her stand out year Ava said, “It has been so surreal and just a really good year.
“I would like to thank my rep coach Blaise Mortimer-Hicks for her guidance.
“I would also like to thank Bec White, Mel Broadbent and the Deniliquin Rams for their continued support”.
Looking forward to next season Ava thought, “It will be hard to top this year, I would like to improve my defensive skills and develop further at rep level.”
