Midfielder Grace Egan’s move to Adelaide is now official, after it was reported last week that the former Richmond player would commit to the side out at West Lakes.
Egan was stunningly not offered a contract from the Tigers for 2026 despite missing matches due to a serious illness that left the 25-year-old hospitalised, returning as one of the best afield across the last six matches of the AFLW campaign.
Following a number of clubs inquiring into Egan, the former Blue chose to don navy again in 2025, along with red and gold, nominating the inaugural AFLW side as club of choice.
On Monday, the restricted free agent was officially traded from Punt Road for third-round selection pick 38 in this year’s AFLW draft.
Egan was originally drafted as pick 13 in 2019.
Crows head of AFLW Phil Harper said he was thrilled with Egan’s acquisition.
“Grace has played at a consistently high level for a long period of time and still has so much growth in her game,” he said.
“She will bring more strength and experience to our midfield.
“Grace showed incredible resilience and work ethic to get back to playing football this season and finished the year particularly well.
“We are excited about the impact Grace can have both on and off the field.”
In addition to Egan’s venture interstate, Shepparton United export Keeley Skepper has also made a move, this time across the Nullarbor to West Coast.
The 21-year-old has played at Carlton since 2022 (season seven) and tallied 38 career games, kicking 12 goals as a versatile forward.
The Eagles secured Skepper’s talents through a trade on Tuesday, also receiving Carlton’s 2026 fourth round selection for pick 66 in the 2025 AFLW Draft and West Coast’s 2026 fifth round selection.
West Coast AFLW list manager Jordan Loxley shared his excitement for the acquisition of Skepper.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Keeley to the West Coast Eagles,” Loxley said.
“Keeley is clearly a very talented player, an exceptional left-foot kick with strong footy IQ who consistently generates scoring opportunities through her decision-making and ball use.
“We’re extremely excited to bring her into the club, where we believe she will rediscover her best football under (head coach Daisy Pearce) and our coaching staff.”
The former pick 17 joins a West Coast list primed for finals contention after its eighth-placed finish in 2025.
