Numurkah narrowly overcame Echuca United 58-51, the win elevating the Blues into sixth over the Rams.
The battle for the final spot in September comes down to the Blues and Rams, with either side having a bye inside the final three rounds.
Separated by two premiership points, Numurkah face Congupna and Rumbalara back-to-back, while Deniliquin play Mulwala and Congupna after its bye next week.
