This week’s win was definitely bittersweet.
The victory was great, and for perhaps only the second time this season, we were able to put our whole team out on court but missing finals is a bitter pill to swallow.
We certainly didn’t have it all our own way on Saturday.
Congupna put up a strong fight, with the score gap remaining tight for the first three quarters.
It was anyone’s game heading into the final term.
In the last quarter, though, we put our foot down and found another gear, finishing with a comfortable win.
Once again, we were able to give our juniors some valuable exposure, with Sienna Elphick and Phoebe Newman getting their opportunity on court.
Coming off her Victorian Netball League grand final win, Annie Harvey was in outstanding form and brought plenty of class and composure to the game.
Chloe Way was instrumental in settling the attack end during the second half, while Amelia Seignior was in everything, working tirelessly from start to finish.
A win is always a great way to finish, but there’s no hiding the disappointment of missing finals.
Still, there is plenty to be proud of in this group and the way they have continued to fight and support each other all season.
A huge thank you to Leah Robinson and Taylor McNamara for all your support throughout the season.
Your encouragement, help and commitment have been greatly appreciated and have meant so much to the team.
Awards: Annie Harvey, Chloe Way, Amelia Seignior.

The vibe was positive courtside on Saturday, with the team determined to finish the season on a high.
Congupna came with the same mindset, though, and the game remained tight for most of the afternoon.
Heading into the final quarter, we made a few positional changes and everything seemed to click into place.
Mia Parks and Shontai O’Callaghan combined beautifully in the goal circle, with the pair seeming to always know exactly where each other was.
Mel Edwards, Ava Marshall, Katie Arandt and Hannah McBurnie held the defensive line strong, while Molly Bradley, Brydey Maher and Dakota Mitsch controlled the game through the mid-court.
Although we won’t be finals-bound this season, this team has battled hard every single week, stayed committed and, most importantly, enjoyed the ride.
There is plenty to be proud of in the way this group has stuck together and continued to compete right through to the end. A fantastic way to finish the season.
A huge thank you and our biggest appreciation to Deanne and Anthony Bradley for all their support throughout the season. Your encouragement, commitment and support have been hugely appreciated and certainly haven’t gone unnoticed.
