Since it was founded all the way back in 1976, the club has made an indelible impact on the wider community, bringing together drivers of varying abilities from beginners through to experienced off-road enthusiasts.
Attracting participants from far and wide across the region, four-wheel petrol heads meet at “Thisildo”, the former Toolamba/Tatura East Primary School Road Tatura East every Wednesday.
In affiliation with Four Wheel Drive Victoria, the community outreach of the club is long-established, with day trips, night runs, and weekend camping trips forming part of its offering.
Additionally, guest speakers often descend on Tatura to interact with members, while the club also takes an active role in conservation projects, track maintenance, and volunteer work with Parks Victoria.
As the club gathered to mark a half-century in existence, President Ian Chapple brought down the curtain on his tenure at the heart of the club, with Darren Martin assuming the reins following its 2026 Annual General Meeting.
Off-road adrenaline seekers of past and present were in attendance for the landmark occasion, sharing tales of lives spent on - and off - road.
Paying tribute to the important work place that the institution has in the fabric of the Goulburn Valley, Mayor of Greater Shepparton, Shane Sali expressed his gratitude towards the club for its impact.
“From its formation in 1976 to today, this club has stood the test of time,” he said.
“The club has become a place for friendships, support and a shared love of four-wheel driving adventures.
“Congratulations to President Ian Chapple and the club members - thank you for allowing me to be part of your 4WD experience!”
