One of the most dominant goalers in the GVL over the past few years has packed up her talents and headed south, joining a club in the Mornington Peninsula Football Netball League.
Langwarrin has snapped up the imposing shooter in a bid to crack into finals after missing out by one spot in 2025.
And with her exit, it potentially opens the door for other GVL clubs to climb.
Morris was by far the most prolific goaler in the league this year, drilling 1053 goals as Euroa made the grand final only to be stopped short of back to back premierships by Shepparton.
Named the News' inaugural Player of the Month, Morris earned top five finishes in the 2024 and 2025 Wellman Medal counts, solidifying her status as a genuine star of the competition.
Euroa playing coach Ellie Warnock had nothing but niceties reserved for the departing goal shooter, who will certainly leave big shoes to fill inside the Magpies’ ring.
“Liv has been instrumental to our club’s growth and success,” Warnock said.
“She’s been a joy to coach and a genuine leader within our group. While we’re incredibly sad to see her go, we’re equally excited for what’s ahead for her.
“We are so grateful for her contribution to the club and she will forever be a Euroa A-grade premiership player.
“We wish her nothing but the very best and we will be cheering her on as she takes the next step in her journey.”
This makes her a big loss for Euroa - and she’s not the only gun out the door.
Following the departure of athletic midcourter Holly Reid (Tongala) and goal attack Sami Kreltzheim (Wangaratta Rovers), the Magpies could be on for a potential rebuild after establishing themselves as one of the premier GVL teams of the past three seasons.
They’re not the only club undergoing change in the GVL, either.
Benalla has witnessed a changing of the guard in the A-grade frontier, seeing Chloe Hill pass the baton on to Colleen Balfour.
A revered figure around the north east netball scene, Balfour is a seven time premiership/coach with Moyhu in the Ovens and King League with three decades worth of experience in the game.
Balfour is tasked with improving a Saints side that has tasted victory only three times in as many years.
In other netball news, Netball Victoria’s 2026 Talent Academy program has invited 194 girls from around the state aged 14-16 years old to engage in a high performance pathway for emerging athletes.
Of that group, 17 from the Goulburn Valley have been included in the North East zone academy and will prepare for the Inter-Academy tournament in August with hopes of earning selection into the top 50 for the Victorian state team trials.
