In an identical layout to 2025, clubs will feature across 18 rounds of action, with teams playing 16 times, eight at home and eight away, with two byes sprinkled throughout.
The league will continue with the addition of Sunday time slots in 2026 too, following 10 rounds of the kind in 2025.
The total amount of Sunday schedules has dropped back to seven dates for next season, but with 12 Sunday games fixtured, it is only a marginal decrease from 13 this year.
Rounds one, three, five, 11, 13, 15, and 17 hold the Sunday slots.
Round one hosts the most Sunday games (three), in a new-look opening weekend that sees the six matches split evenly across Saturday and Sunday.
KDL president Peter Cordy stated the Sunday action will deliver “finals-like” atmospheres to clubs, as well as promote senior umpire availability and netball umpire growth.
“The 2026 season will continue to see games scheduled on Sundays to ensure umpires are able to be appointed to all senior football games and allow greater mentoring and badging of netball umpires,” Cordy said.
“Sunday games are also the league’s broadcast games, which allow us to further promote our league.
“Having Sunday games also affords clubs the opportunity to host a game with a finals-like atmosphere during the season as they are typically well attended.”

In the netball, the grand final rematch between Girgarre and Shepparton East will also be held in round six.
A general bye will be held over King’s Birthday weekend between rounds eight and nine, while Indigenous Round is scheduled for round 13.
