A Kyabram District League gun will be sidelined for the remainder of the home and away season, plus the first week of finals should his side qualify, after the league investigated a round 14 incident of misconduct.
An incident referral was placed after Longwood’s clash against Murchison-Toolamba, with Redleg Jordan Formosa cited for misconduct.
Following investigation into the incident, the act of misconduct was sent directly to the tribunal, where Formosa learned of a three-week ban after round 16, ruling the club stalwart out for rounds 17 and 18 against Violet Town and Rushworth.
The Redlegs are currently seventh on the table, a win and percentage behind finals calculations.
Should Longwood score a top six position, Formosa will miss the club’s elimination final, or otherwise be sidelined for round one, 2027.
The KDL declined to comment on the nature of the misconduct charge.
Formosa has been named in Longwood’s best from nine of ten appearances this season.
Tallygaroopna’s Nate Earl has escaped with a reprimand after being initially offered a one-match suspension for rough conduct in round 16’s match against Avenel, the careless conduct graded high contact and low impact.
With an early guilty plea accepted, Earl is free to play against Undera on Sunday.
