Shepparton’s Stacey Lothian is hopeful of fulfilling her dream of representing Victoria’s Over 40s & Over 50s Masters Cricket Team in Tasmania - and is asking for assistance from sponsors to help her realise her dream.

The Goulburn Valley trailblazer has received the call-up to represent her home state at the Cricket Australia Masters Over 40s Women's National Championships in Launceston, Tasmania from November 15 to 20.
The participation cost to each player is approximately $2000, with this figure including uniform, accommodation and administration costs.
Lothian has been a stalwart of the cricketing scene in the Goulburn Valley for several years, with the all-rounder having earned a reputation as a reliable right-handed batter, combining this with her talents as a spin bowler.
Having previously represented Shepparton Youth Club United on the field in a playing capacity with distinction, she also has broke new ground for women in the sport after taking up umpiring duties in the past year.
At club level, she will take up the reins as Cooma captain moving forward, in what represents an opportunity to lead the Titans into a new era, with this being a challenge that she is “greatly looking forward to”.
“Cricket in this area is really growing and there’s plenty of opportunities for women to play, Cricket Shepparton are trying hard to get a Girls Association up and running too,” she said.
“The Over 40s space is something that is really starting to take off too and that could be a great way to get more people involved in the game in the future.”

In addition, the 39-year-old plays winter cricket for Blackbridge, with an organised tour of New Zealand also on the horizon for 2028.
Now, Lothian is seeking sponsorship to enable her to represent Victoria in Tasmania, as she looks ahead towards the National Championships following a successful trial.
She described what it would mean to her to be able to don Victoria’s colours up against the best players from across Australia in November, especially after receiving the call-up following a recovery from a knee injury.
“I’m very excited and honoured to have been given the opportunity,” Lothian said.
“At first I was in a little bit of disbelief as I have worked very hard since coming back from fracturing my patella about 18 months before and I had only picked up a cricket ball a couple of months before starting the trial.
“To come back from that and to get in the squad was really special to me and the opportunity to experience that with a few of my friends that managed to make the squad was really fantastic.
Lothian also outlined the importance of players from regional areas getting the opportunity to play on the big stage.
“There’s a sprinkling of players from regional areas, including one from my association who has made the squad,” she added.
“But many are from city areas and so it was really good that they did three regional trials, meaning opportunity was spread around to give people as much of a chance to get into the squad.
