The GVL is looking to appoint a General Manager for 2027.
The Goulburn Valley League has announced that it has launched its search for a General Manager to lead the competition into a new era of self-administration from the 2027 season.

The league will advertise the role on digital and print platforms starting from the week of August 10, this week.
This development comes following the announcement earlier this year that the AFL Goulburn Murray Regional Administration Centre (RAC) will be phased out.
GVL Chair Peter Foott said considerable planning had already taken place behind the scenes, with the Board working closely alongside AFL Goulburn Murray to ensure a smooth transition.
The new General Manager will oversee what Mr Foott says is one of Australia’s premier country football and netball competitions.
"The Board has invested a significant amount of time planning this transition and ensuring we are well positioned for the future,“ he said.
"The appointment of our General Manager is a major milestone in that process. We’re looking for someone who wants to join us on this journey.
“We need a person with vision, strong leadership and a broad range of skills, someone who can continue promoting our football and netball competitions while building strong relationships with our clubs, sponsors and wider community.
"We genuinely believe the Goulburn Valley League has the potential to be the best country football and netball league in Australia.
GVL board members Daniel Irwin, Mark Stevens, Peter Foott, Jason Sherlock, Alison Milner, and Sharon O’Dwyer will soon appoint a new General Manager.
"Founded 133 years ago, the Goulburn Valley League has grown into one of the country's most respected regional competitions.
The league has operated in its current 12-team format since Mansfield joined in 1998, following Benalla’s move from the Ovens and Murray Football Netball League in 1997.
Mr Foott said the incoming General Manager would inherit a competition that had been strategically positioned for future growth.
"The Board has done a tremendous amount of work over the past few years strengthening the GVL brand and establishing solid foundations for the future.
“We believe we’re now in a very strong position to capitalise on that work with the right person leading the organisation.”
Mr Foott also acknowledged the ongoing support of AFL Victoria throughout the transition.
"While AFL Victoria has empowered us to return to self-management in a way that best suits our competition, they’ve also committed to providing ongoing guidance and support throughout the transition and beyond.
"Our incoming General Manager won't be doing this alone. There will continue to be a strong relationship with the Goulburn Valley Board as we move into this exciting new chapter.
Mr Foott said the return to self-administration represented an opportunity to build on the momentum created in recent years while ensuring the league continued to evolve.
"It has been 10 years since the GVL managed its own operations, and this is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of football and netball across the Goulburn Valley.
"Our board is genuinely excited about what the future holds for our clubs, players, volunteers, sponsors and supporters.“
