The blue-ribbon event will transform Mooroopna into a hub of high-octane action, welcoming 300 of the nation's top junior male and female riders for a five-day competition spectacular.
The championships are set to inject more than $1 million into the local economy, with over 1,500 visitors including families and support crews expected to descend on the region.
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Shane Sali hailed the back-to-back hosting rights.
“Hosting elite sporting events like the Australian Junior Motocross Championships provides a valuable opportunity to showcase our region to a national audience,” he said.
“We’re especially proud to host the championships not just once, but twice.
“It's a reflection of the outstanding facilities we have in Mooroopna and the ability to deliver top-tier racing experiences.
Motorcycle Australia chief executive Peter Doyle welcomed the partnership with a community club.
“The Australian Junior Motocross Championship (AJMX) is one of the flagship events on the Motorcycling Australia calendar, drawing riders, families, officials and spectators from all parts of the country,” he said.
“For nearly 30 years, the AJMX has been shining a spotlight on the nation's elite junior motocross talent, and I'm delighted the event will be held in Mooroopna in 2026 and 2027.
“I’d like to extend my gratitude to the Greater Shepparton City Council for its support of the AJMX, and we look forward to working alongside the highly experienced team at the Goulburn Valley Junior Motorcycle Club in helping to deliver two-world class events and unearthing the next wave of Aussie motocross superstars.”
Goulburn Valley Junior Motorcycle Club president Will Gookier echoed the sentiment.
“The club is excited to bring the country's most talented junior motocross riders to the region to showcase their talent to the nation in our own back yard.”
