Having gone unbeaten throughout the month of July, the current pacesetters have hit form at the right time as the business end to the campaign fast approaches, with an emphatic 6-2 victory over Mooroopna representing their latest conquest.
Long-term minor premiership frontrunner SYC Yellow had a bye for round 12 on August 8 after slipping to three draws in their previous five, providing title rivals the Strikers Red with the opportunity to seize first place.
Meanwhile, Echuca-Moama remained in the finals hunt after a crucial 4-0 triumph against Goulburn Valley Grammar, leaving them four points adrift of the Strikers Blue, who currently occupy the fourth qualification spot.
The River Rats have a game-in-hand on their rivals for passage to the semi-finals, setting up a grandstand finish to the home-and-away campaign.
Elsewhere, SYC Blue has secured a top-three berth after sealing a 5-1 victory over the Strikers Blue - as they remain two points short of SYC Yellow in second place and the Strikers Red in top spot.
SYC Blue will face off against leaders Strikers Red in round 13 on August 15, with the Strikers Blue due to play SYC Yellow that same day, as Mooroopna prepares to come up against Echuca-Moama.
In the GVHA Women’s League, the Strikers defeated first-placed Mooroopna 2-1 to inflict their first defeat of the season, while Echuca-Moama remains in second after a 5-0 win over SYC.
