The pitches at McEwen Reserve were a hive of activity on Saturday as Shepparton Junior Soccer Association roared back into action.

Teenagers from across the Goulburn Valley laced up their boots and took to the field for the first time this year as the journey to claim silverware begins.

In the Open Girls competitions, Shepparton City begun its campaign with a bang against Numurkah Knights.

City was far too strong for its opponent and chalked up a commanding 5-0 victory.
