The Students’ all-conquering under-12s claimed the A-grade premiership for a second year running, defeating a gallant Karramomus by seven wickets in the decider at Kialla Park on Friday evening.
The Bloods batted first and were well served by skipper Brodie Couch, Liam Jones, and Toby Hawker, all tallying 15 runs in a steady dig for the visitors, who had progressed to grand final on the back of a 21-run semi-final win over Euroa.
However, Old Students’ bowling attack hammered away at a consistent line and length, and although they didn’t snare any wickets until late in the opening stanza - a run out and a wicket to Ollie James - Karramomus were held to 2-93.

In T20 cricket, 93 runs can be deceptively challenging to chase, and Karramomus proved exactly that when Jacob Shield and Vansh Patel struck crucial early blows.
But the cool heads of co-captain Oliver Mathers (21) and Alex Tenace (17) steadied the Students' chase - their crucial 38-run partnership proving the match-winning foundation that assured victory.
The minor premiers proceeded briskly after the retirements of Mathers and Tenace, and a swashbuckling 22 off 15 deliveries from co-captain Basil Piper confirmed Old Students’ position at the top of the under-12 apex once more.
For his clean hitting and tidy bowling, Piper was judged man of the match, and the boys from Kialla Reserve, who look every bit the bright future for Old Students’ cricketing ranks, will be hoisting yet another pennant in the rafters.
