Highlighted by the induction of esteemed quartert Mark Ryan, Matthew Robertson, Stacey Collier and Beverley Cahill into the Goulburn Valley Playing Area Hall of Fame, the night offered those from clubs across the region a chance to come together and reminisce on an absorbing summer of bowls.
Along with the Hall of Famers, a number of local bowling stalwarts were recognised for their performances at state level, while singles champions of champions Collier (East Shepparton) and Neil Swainston (Dookie) received a rapturous ovation for their triumphs.
Pennant premiership team members were also presented with their trophies and shields, while City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Kim O’Keeffe delivered an address on regional Victoria’s recent acquisition of the Commonwealth Games.
The night also saw the underage GV Devils recognised for a flurry of excellent performances.
News sports reporter Zac Standish attended and captured all the action.
