Goulburn Valley Playing Area concluded its midweek pennant division one home and away season on Tuesday, with eight becoming four ahead of next week’s semi-finals.
Shockingly, Tallygaroopna is not among the group to progress.
The reigning premier Redlegs bowed out in a thrilling round 14 decider against Euroa, with the victor guaranteed passage to finals while the other would see their season come to a premature end.
Euroa made the home green advantage count in the first rink as it banked a 21-15 result, however David Daws willed his charges back into the game with a 26-19 second rink victory.
Bill Taylor’s four then mustered a four shot triumph over Carla Miles’ crew, steering the hosts to a gripping 14-59 to 2-56 win and locking in fourth spot in the process.
It wasn’t the only show-stopping clash of the round either.
Shepparton Park secured second on the ladder, but it wasn’t without a massive challenge from bottom side East Shepparton out at Zurcas Lane.
East won two out of the three sets of ends, but a Kate Bush-led rink netted a 12-shot result that split the match points following a final score of 9-59 to 7-59 in East’s favour.
Further west, Shepparton Golf landed the minor premiership following a tight-lipped triumph against fellow finals-goer Seymour.
Rink results swung in metronome fashion, but the Golfers managed to eke out a 14-53 to 2-51 victory and wrap up top spot by a cosy 21 point margin.
Lastly, Tatura-Hill Top best Seymour VRI in a game for pride as neither side will venture into finals, winning 16-52 to 0-39.
Semi-final action will see Seymour and Euroa face off at Shepparton Golf Bowling Club, while the Golfers square off against Shepparton Park in Euroa.
