A big Troy Brown 49 put the Cats on their way to victory, with a 4-25 bowling performance from Josh Preston piling the pressure on Karramomus’ batters.
For Karramomus, a Chris Crouch 37 led the side to a solid total, while some great bowling, including a Jake Keating 2-22 off nine, was not enough to stop Mooroopna reaching the home sides total.
This game was not the only one that went down to the wire on the weekend, with Central Park-St Brendan’s winning in the final over.

This game was an instant classic, with Park’s Ryan Ash (61) and United’s Tyler Green (40) the best of the batters.
With the ball, United’s Harrison Boyd (2-13) and Michael Dann (2-19) were the pick of the bunch on the day.
This contest came down to the wire, with Keiran Hogeboom hitting three off the final over to win the game.
In other games, Katandra beat Nagambie, Kyabram downed Pine Lodge and Waaia were too strong for Northerners.
A Reydan Lacuin 4-18 helped Numurkah smash Euroa, while Tatura, led by a James Boyer 106 not out, had a big win over Old Students.

The results set up an interesting first week of finals, with Mooroopna taking on Karramomus, Tatura hosting Kyabram and Northerners travelling to Numurkah.
In the Jim McGregor Shield C-grade competition, Murchison has made its way into the top six, defeating Central Park-St Brendan’s in a nail-biting win.
Park put up a decent 7-124 total and Murchison looked to be on the ropes to reach it.
However, some solid batting, including a 27 not out from Dean Letizia, got the side over the line.

At Mooroopna, a Reilly Young 4-16 helped Mooroopna beat Numurkah by 27 runs.
It was a bowlers’ day out, with Numurkah’s Brett O’Dwyer (5-16) and Matthew Ward (2-6) bowling well, while Matthew Macansh’s 2-9 was impressive for the home side.
In other games, Euroa defeated Tatura, Kyabram picked up the points against Invergordon, Undera beat Pine Lodge by 51 runs and Karramomus had the bye.
