With three points separating the sides at the final change, the Eagles finished with a flurry in front of goal, kicking 4.8 to Euroa’s 1.1 in the last quarter to secure a 14.14 (98) to 10.10 (70) win on the road.
The result solidifies Mansfield’s place in fifth heading into the bye, now sitting at 7-3 with a healthy percentage of 119.20 after 10 rounds.
Euroa burst out of the blocks with a five-goal-to-two opening term.
But whatever was said at quarter-time by the Mansfield coaching staff clearly hit the mark — the Eagles responded with a dominant six-goal-to-one second quarter to flip the momentum.
The third term tightened up again, setting up a three-point thriller heading into the final change.
With the game on the line, it was Mansfield’s efficiency and timely contributions that proved the difference.
The Eagles finished with six individual goal-kickers — four of whom kicked multiple goals — led by Nathan Buchanan with four.
Buchanan, Jackson Sole and William Hogan were among the standouts in a strong all-round performance on the road.
The win marks Mansfield’s third in a row after toppling the Swans and Saints in the weeks prior, and keeps it firmly in the mix as the race for finals football heats up.
Meanwhile, Euroa has now dropped consecutive matches and sits eighth on the ladder with a 3-7 record.
Despite kicking 10 goals and winning two of the four quarters, the Magpies couldn’t stop Mansfield’s final-quarter surge.
Cohen Paul, Lachlan Hill and Jack Frewen were among the most consistent contributors for the home side, while Jett Trotter and Jack McKernan each finished with multiple goals.
Both sides will take a break during their round 11 byes, with Mansfield eyeing a top-four push and Euroa needing a reset ahead of a challenging run home in the back half of the 2025 season.
