Lachie MacDonald lands a tackle on his opponent in the seniors game.
The Deniliquin Rams Football Netball Club went head-to-head with Barham Football Netball Club on March 5, in their first practice match of the season.
While there was no official scoring of the match, seniors coach Ash Morris said it was evident the pre-season training was paying off.

‘‘It was a great first hitout for us,’’ said Morris.
‘‘Although it wasn’t about the result, we had a comfortable win.
‘‘More importantly, it was great to see some of the things we had been implementing at training come to fruition.
‘‘We moved the ball well and our onballers were aggressive at stoppages, which was pleasing.’’
Morris said the side is growing in confidence, which is an attribute needed to execute their game style. The practice match certainly helped that along, he said.
While Morris said there are still some minor changes to be made with the team’s organisation around the ground and at stoppages, the side is excited to kick off the season.
‘‘Pre-season’s can be long, especially after last season was cut short,’’ said Morris.
‘‘So it’s going to be great to get back to doing what we all enjoy most.’’
