Only three rounds remain before the knockout action commences, so with sharp wits and hot sticks, players knuckled down to business at the weekend.
In the women’s division, Strikers scalped a handy 1-1 draw against top-of-the-table Echuca Moama Green on Saturday as Renee Whatman and Meaghan Whan hit the back of the net for their respective outfits.
Later that day, Echuca Moama White had a busy day out in front of goal as Tina Dennett’s three-piece took the headlines in her side’s 6-0 drubbing of Euroa.
Men’s A-grade action pitted Shepparton Youth Club against Echuca Moama in round five of the Regional Hockey League, with the resultant 1-1 draw not affecting either side’s ladder positions.
B-grade action saw goals fly as Strikers downed Mooroopna 3-0, while SYC did enough to out muscle Echuca Moama 1-0.
On the Women’s Vic League Two front, Mooroopna suffered a hammer blow against Greater Dandenong that now sees the Cats drop out of the top four.
Lauren Varapodio etched her name on the scoresheet, but it wasn’t enough to propel Mooroopna to victory as the Warriors held on for a 3-1 triumph.
