Cricket Shepparton and the Bendigo District Cricket Association will lock horns this Sunday in a highly anticipated interleague cricket rematch at Deakin Reserve, with the home league naming its 12-player squad to tackle the BDCA.
Back in January, the BDCA claimed a nail-biting two-wicket victory despite a brilliant Connor Hayes (81 runs) and Tyler Larkin-inspired performance.
Now, Cricket Shepparton is hoping to get one back.
Larkin has been chosen to skipper the side once again with Waaia and Karramomus making up the majority of the squad representation with three players from both clubs picked.
Bloods’ paceman Lachie Keady has been selected alongside spinners Bailey Simpson and Zac Groombridge, while Bombers’ captain Mitch Cleeland will be joined by teammates Jesse and Will Trower.
Nagambie’s Mitch Winter-Irving and Tom Barnes are in and Shepparton Youth Club United’s Tyler Green, Tatura’s Blake Armstrong, and Mooroopna’s Ben Woods round out the Cricket Shepparton side.
The final squad confirms six changes from January’s Cricket Shepparton squad, including the mercurial Kyle Mueller and leading competition run-scorer Connor Hayes.
The one-day clash starts at 10.30am, the second time the two associations have met on the field this year after reinstating the interleague bout last season.
