The Bush Whackers roared back to form with a narrow, two point win over the previously undefeated Tell Him He’s Dreamin, 129-127.
Jill Jeffrey lead the Bush Whackers with 34 points, with Neil Boswell and Jason Kerr each scoring 32 and Ben Littmann, 31.
Andrew Brunker was best for the Dreamers with 35 points, Jeffrey Grant and Noel Swainger each scored 31 and Ron Turner 30.
Despite the loss, the Dreamers retain top spot.
The Bush Whackers jumped from fourth to second and have reminded the competition that they won’t surrender the plate without a fight.
The Big Ballers entered the round on the bottom of the ladder and in desperate need of a win against the Eclectics to keep their season alive.
Ross Taylor lead his team from the front, scoring a brilliant 41 points.
Troy Grant’s 33 provided a solid second score, with Albert Liebenberg’s 30 and Nick Metcalfe’s 29 rounding out a solid team score of 133.
In reply, Jane Glowery scored 38 points to lead the Eclectics and keep them in the contest.
With Leigh Chappell, Shandra Simpson and John Wacheke scoring 32, 31 and 31 points respectively, the Eclectics had fallen a single point short.
The Big Ballers improved to seventh place on the ladder, but importantly within two points of a finals place.
The loss dropped the Eclectics to the bottom, but also just one win from a finals place and a lot to play for over the final three rounds.
Par-Tee Poppers recorded a comprehensive win 140-127 over Eagles & Birdies.
The Poppers have struggled for numbers over the first three rounds, but have still shown glimpses of a high scoring team.
With all eight on course, they delivered on Saturday lead by Jamie Loy and Jenny Adamson who each scored 36 points.
Captain Anne Bull scored 35 and Anita Gorsuch 33.
For Eagles & Birdies, Felcity McCalman was best with 35 points.
Ginny Lange scored 32 and Mandy Phyland and Jenny Swainger each scored 30.
The Poppers sit sixth on the ladder equal on points with the third placed Eagles & Birdies.
The Old Boys also returned to form to record an easy win over the Wedgies, 135-124.
Dan Wade was best for the Old Boys with 35 points.
Scott Mildren and Don Alexander each scored 34, and Brian Dixon completed the team score with 32.
Ray Phillips and Gary Rodda each scored 32 for the Wedgies, with Kathy Simpson and Vince Kelly providing 30 points each.
Wedgies just hang on to fourth place on percentage with Old Boys now hot on their heels in fifth.
Premier League will now take a three week break due to the Spring Classic, AFL grand final and Deni Ute Muster.
Round five will be played Saturday, October 8.
