Taking on Tarrawingee at Whorouly Recreation Reserve, the girls left absolutely everything out on the court in the cutthroat elimination final, going down by just one goal in the dying seconds.
We found ourselves a few goals down at different stages throughout the game, but each time the girls showed incredible fight and determination to work their way back into the contest. We continued to apply pressure right until the final siren and never gave up.
It was a heartbreaking way to finish, but the effort, fight and belief the girls showed in such a high-pressure final was something to be extremely proud of.
Olivia Dalton was outstanding and stood up when we needed her, Michele Button was strong and composed throughout the game, while Sarah Blackburn worked tirelessly and had a huge impact.

The Bats took on Milawa on Sunday for the first round of finals at Whorouly Recreation Reserve, having only came up against Milawa once this year, where Milawa took the win by three goals.
The Bats had a slow start, down 0-7 within the first few minutes of the first quarter.
The girls fought their way back into the game and at half time had closed the gap to two goals, before taking the lead in the third term to lead 27-24 by the final change, and as the final whistle was blown, the girls completed a 15-goal turnaround to come away with the win by eight goals, triumphing 38-30.
Every player played their part today, every player put everything they had on the line for the win right until the final siren.
I’m in awe of every player, those on the bench and on the court, they showed why we deserved to be in finals this year. They’ve worked so hard through injury, players being away and a tough season of netball.
Our big congratulations also to Lacey Carter on playing her 100th club game for the Bats.
We reset this week and get ready to take on Greta in the semi final next Sunday, again being played at Whorouly.
