The Eagles set up the 35-point victory with a six goals to none second term, which converted a one-point quarter time lead into a 37-point buffer at the main break.
The three other quarters were even with both teams kicking one goal each in the first term and two each in the third and final quarters as Mansfield ran out 11.6 (72) to 5.7 (37) victors.
Eagles coach Chad Owens was pleased with his team's pressure, particularly early in the match.
“It was a good win actually,” Owens said.
“We started really well, we were really aggressive at the contest and the boys were able to execute that throughout and put them off their game early.
“We spoke at quarter-time that the pressure was good and mentioned that if we continued that, the game would have broken open, which it did.
“We thought we could have kicked a couple more in the first, but we were let down by the last kick inside 50 as there was no-one front and centre, but once we cleaned that up we were good after that.”
Owens was also happy with the individual performances of each of his players.
“Jayden Howes was really good in the midfield, but they all played well,” he said.
“We didn’t think we had anyone who didn’t win their position on the day.”
Owens described the atmosphere as "electric" as the community enjoyed a day out at the football.
“The crowd was massive,” he said.
“I'm not sure how many were there, but they were loud, bloody loud.”
Despite the win, it wasn't all good news for the Eagles with debutant Sam Thomson breaking his arm during the match.
