State Champions Week - Familiar faces shining on the big stage

At least one state title will be returning to the Goulburn Valley Bowls Division at the end of State Champions Week in Warrnambool.

But there remains plenty more opportunities for familiar faces to taste success as proceedings draw to a close.

Shepparton Golf quartet Brad Orr, Col Power and John and Wayne Dagger reigned supreme in the men's fours, winning the state championship 18-16 over a team from Rosanna.

It was the closest result of the tournament for the Golfers in the discipline as they showcased their talents on the biggest stage.

The Golfers — Orr, David Daws and John Hallam — also made the final of the men's triples event, with the decider scheduled for late Wednesday evening.

Benalla product Tyson Cromie claimed an under-18 boys’ triples crown alongside Grant McLaren and Jarryd Davies, securing a big win in the final.

Tatura-Hill Top's Olivia Cartwright is through to the final of the under-18 girls’ pairs alongside Glenroy's Jordyn Long after an 18-10 triumph in the semi-final.

Stanhope duo Hayley Hancock and Jorja Ponton went down in the other semi.

Daws and Orr made the semi-final of the men's pairs before going down to a duo from Geelong, while various other representatives of the Central Goulburn Murray Region remain alive in their respective events.
