More GVBD success at regional finals

Central Goulburn Murray Bowls Region finals action continued on Sunday at Wunghnu Bowls Club.

Goulburn Valley Bowls Division representatives were again dominant on the green, winning through to the looming state finals week in three of the four disciplines.

East Shepparton coach Daniel Nichols claimed success in the men's Champion of Champions singles, winning his final 25-4 after a 25-20 result in the semi.

Rushworth's Jean Sprague made it two from two for the GVBD by taking out the women's Champion of Champions singles decider 25-5, while Shepparton Golf's Brad Orr, David Daws and John Hallam took out their men's triples final 20-5.

It came after the Golfers won their semi-final 20-11.

In the women's triples it was Cobram's Marj McDonald, Kerry Baldacchino and Christine Dunne snaring success for the Murray Bowls Division in a thrilling 16-14 triumph.

The third and final day of CGMBR state finals will take place tomorrow at Numurkah Golf Bowls Club.

On the agenda is men's and women's pairs action, as well as the mixed pairs finals.
