At smoko RSL held a comfortable lead and it looked as though there would be a happy ending for the visitor, but Merrigum regrouped and ran out a comfortable winner by 15 shots.
Gary Mott, Jim Arthur, Ken Philips and Graeme Hubble played T. Rowe and won by 25 shots.

Believe it or not after 18 ends they trailed by 11 shots and it looked like a certain victory for the visitors, but the Merrigum boys rallied over the last seven ends to outscore RSL by 17 shots to zip.
I can’t really explain this massive turnaround, but the scorecard doesn’t lie. A great effort by these players!Joe Chant lost by seven shots to Ray Sinclair and Rob Dennis went down by nine shots to G. McKinnes.
Although well beaten both rinks finished strongly to ensure the winning margin was not whittled away. The Merrigum teams were out-bowled on the day.Although not making the finals the team can be pleased with the final result that was achieved under adversity.On Saturday night we all enjoyed a pizza dinner and all present sat around and enjoyed the food and the good company.
