Murray Bushrangers preview

Following an extended break, the Murray Bushrangers are back in action tomorrow for the final game of the NAB League regular season. Mark Brown’s charges will make the trip to Bendigo’s Queen Elizabeth Oval to take on the Greater Western Victoria Rebels, with the side last playing on July 27 against the Western Jets. The ninth-placed Bushrangers will be looking for their seventh victory of the campaign, while the Rebels have five wins under their belts from 14 games. Although the Bushrangers have had a representative football break, many of the players took the opportunity to get back to club level and continue to fine tune their talents. Josh Rachele made his senior debut for the Shepparton Swans and was named on the best players list, while the likes of Shepparton United’s Liam Fiore and Jye and Kade Chalcraft and Congupna’s Jimmy Boyer were also influential for their home outfits. Against the Jets, the Bushrangers were able to produce some of their best football of the season to claim success by 72 points, and will be looking to replicate that tomorrow against the Rebels. Coming into the side from that contest is Cobram’s Harry Beasley and Shepparton United’s Zavier Maher, while Mooroopna’s Tom Brown has earned himself a debut after impressing at under-16 level with both the Bushrangers and Victoria Country. Albury’s Ben Kelly is also back in action, while Shepparton United’s Zane Barzen is among those heading out of the squad. Barzen will line up for Greater Western Sydney in the North East Australian Football League for the second time after debuting in the Giants’ game on August 3.
