The Victorian Government announced the Let’s Stay Connected Fund to support community connection in response to the challenges presented by physical distancing.
Grants between $5000 and $200,000 are available for community organisations, local government bodies, incorporated not-for-profits and industry groups.
To combat loneliness and isolation, the fund will support these groups to develop accessible digital content or to scale-up innovative approaches to community engagement.
The Let’s Stay Connected Fund was established after Victoria’s nine Regional Partnerships highlighted the important link between social connection and community wellbeing.
Goulburn Regional Partnership chair David McKenzie said he encouraged local community groups to apply to the fund.
“Many of our communities are struggling with the loss of connection that has come with coronavirus restrictions and the need for social distancing,” he said.
“It is critical that we support communities, especially those who are most vulnerable, to be resilient and maintaining social connectivity is a big part of that.
“This fund will provide much-needed resources to enable communities to get through the current pandemic and be prepared for the recovery to come.”
Applications for the Let’s Stay Connected Fund close on Monday, August 31.
