Flynn William Levack, 18, of the Melbourne suburb of Mickleham, appeared briefly in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in a filing hearing on Friday, August 29.
He is charged with two counts of negligently causing serious injury with a motor vehicle, two counts of driving in a dangerous manner causing serious injury, reckless conduct endangering life, and reckless conduct endangering serious injury.
He is also charged with speeding by 45km/h or more, driving at a dangerous speed, using an unregistered vehicle, drug driving, and failing to ensure passengers were wearing a seatbelt.
The charges relate to a crash where the Holden Commodore ute he was driving crashed on the Goulburn Valley Highway near Riverside Plaza at 11.15pm on July 3.
The highway had diversions put in place for the rest of that night and much of the next day as police inspected the scene and cleaned up debris from the crash.
Mr Levack was charged on August 22.
He has not entered any pleas to the charges.
He has been bailed to appear Shepparton Magistrates’ Court again in November.
His bail conditions include that he doesn’t drive or use drugs.
